Can I borrow a pen?

(A post office. Twenty-two people wait in line, most with long green coats, but we can see the occasional Starter jacket. Somewhere in the middle is an alternative-looking girl with black hair and black fingernails and a shock of green eyes. She significantly does not speak. Behind the desk, a man with noticeably clean fingernails turns, goose-like, towards the audience. Next is a man with brown hair, who is 22, but his birthday is next week.)

Man behind desk: Next.

Brown-haired man: Can I send this certified?

Man behin desk: Yup. Let me weigh it. (A pause. Time takes on several new meanings.) You'll have to sign this.
